Located 2,600 meters above sea level at La Casa Del Arbol in Banos, Ecuador, the Swing at the End of the World is probably the most beautiful - and absolutely terrifying - attraction you could place on your bucket list. If the name didn’t give it away, just getting to the swing is a challenge in itself. First, you need to take a bus to the small city of Banos. Then you need to walk on foot (or hire a car) along the road to Bellavista. It’s there that you’ll find La Casa del Arbol station, a quaint, albeit somewhat rickety-looking tree house that provides the swing’s anchor.
It’s one thing to think that you’re going to swing out over a 2,600 meter cliff - and another to actually do it. You’ll be able to take in some stunning scenery from the safety of the ground just by making it to La Casa del Arbol. However, for the full experience, you’ll need to get onto the swing and get ready for the ride of your life.
What you see is what you get. There are no extra harnesses, or sturdy lines to keep you in place. It’s just you, the swing, and that tree house that are preventing you from plunging into the valley below. Are you feeling lucky? Ride at your own risk!

The famous Tungurahua volcano is certainly one of the scenic highlights. In fact, it’s actually the reason for the swing in the first place. The tree house that the swing connects to is a volcano observation station - and Mount Tungurahua is still active today. A few lucky swing-riders even manage to catch a glimpse of the volcano mid-eruption!
